#160 of 366 – autumn park
I’m loving this Autumn weather and all the amazing colours and refreshingly cool rains that it’s bringing with it. I had a chance for a morning stroll through the park today and went armed, camera in hand.

The sun is going to sleep earlier, the rain is hanging around longer, and the leaves are turning some beautiful colours. Summer is finally on the way out and Autumn has truly headed our way. Was really digging the pattern on this leaf this afternoon as the sun made its early march toward the horizon.

Interesting historical fact – Norfolk pines were planted along the coast by early explorers as they were perfectly suited to being used as ships masts. If a mast was damaged at sea or getting too long in the tooth, the captain could order his motley crew to cut down one of the pines along the coast, strip it, and mount it on the ship.
