No sparkling vampires around here, only true blue toothy ones. Since when did vampires become whiney little brats anyway? Give me good old chompy ones like in 30 days of night, or at least campy kung-fu ones like in Buffy.

A green wormhole leading to a pink paradise?

A pink kaleidoscope with a dash of green?

A pink stadium?

A home to giant pink bees?

Pink eye?

With the festival rolling into town there’s art and interestingnesses springing up over the city. This piece, ‘Air, Air 2012′ by Choi Jeong Hwa is a pile of green and pink plastic wash baskets tied together to form interesting shapes. As you move around them and the park they present all kinds of different viewpoints.

The three structures comprise 15,000 baskets and are tied together with over 150,000 plastic cable ties. For the environmentally conscious out there, when it comes time to pull it apart the baskets are set to be recycled and provided to educational groups for students.

If you’re in Perth during the festival you can find this interesting work in the supreme court gardens on the terrace.

In the future, dragons will police the mean streets of our underworld societies and they will be armed with swords. It will be the time of the Dragon Cops. Or the kids who decide to put on as many dress up costumes on as they can at the same time.

We bought the kids some lego today. Once they were asleep I snuck into the box and built myself this kickass robot. Red shoes are cool.

Traffic lights at night. I only had to break 264 individual traffic rules in a thirteen second period to capture this. Well worth it.

Is there anything coffee can’t do? It wakes you up, it keeps you going, it stains your teeth a funky yellow colour, and it even gives you a little heart on valentines day. I heart you too coffee.
